My First "Inspired" Handstand
This handstand picture comes to me all the way from a lava field in Iceland! The owner may not realize but he is part of the reason that I have a love for handstands. When I was a level 5 gymnast, attending a NH clinic, he pulled me aside and taught me how to do a giant on bars because he liked my handstand! I'm paraphrasing but I believe he told a shy/nervous me, "It's just a handstand around the bar to a handstand." Thank you for noticing my handstand and making me feel special. Not only do I now have a love for handstands, but I also keep this moment in mind when coaching my own gymnasts!
