January
January was a month of extreme emotions... It began with my little sister's wedding... a perfect winter wonderland wedding...
And concluded with the passing of my Uncle... a great man who is missed by many...
February
February was a month of skiing... I skied every weekend in February... My weekends at the mountain kept me sane during my long weeks of work at my Dad's company... I'm not a big fan of desk jobs but I appreciated the opportunity to work while I figured out what I wanted to do next in life...
March
March was a month of discernment... It was during the month of March that I received word of a potential job offer... Ski season would be coming to an end soon and I was going stir crazy at my desk job so life decisions needed to be made... I hopped on a plane to Maryland, met with a few potential employers, and visited friends during the decision making process...March also happened to be my nephew's 5th birthday...
April
April was the month in which ski season ended and www.travelinghandstands.com began... I skied the first two weekends in April and by the last weekend I was hiking one of New Hampshire's "52 with a View"... I needed a fun place and a fun pic to begin my blog so for the first post, on my birthday, my mom and I hiked in the White Mountains... Thanks Mom for all of the fabulous handstand pictures...
Testing the intensity of the wind for handstandability...

Safe enough...
April was also my Mom's birthday...
And April was a month of listening to "Let It Go"... My sister's kids love to listen to the "Frozen" soundtrack while swinging on the hammock and it was finally warm enough to put up the hammock...
May
May was a month of transitions... I accepted a job offer, said goodbye to New Hampshire, moved back to Maryland, ended a 3 year relationship which involved shipping my tandem bike to New Hampshire, and started working in the gymnastics world again...
June
June was the month of my family's Cape Cod vacation... Swimming, sailing, shell/rock collecting, walking along the beach, eating goodies from PB Boulangerie, playing ping pong, and watching movies... The Cape is a little piece of heaven on earth...
July
July was the month of hardcore gym training... My new team had a long road ahead of them to be ready for competition season... This road began with lots of new routines... We flew one of our favorite choreographers in from Colorado... She did an amazing job...July was also the month of my niece's 3rd birthday...
August
August was a month of summer enjoyment... I enjoyed blueberry picking at Larriland, cool nights on the hammock, steaks on the grill, ice cream with my gymnasts, and having my sister in town for more choreography...
August was also my nephew's 1st birthday as well as my Dad's birthday...
September
September was the beginning of orienteering season... Since I have weekends off and meet season had not started, I was able to attend a lot of orienteering events...
September was also my first experience with chiggers... Not fun... I have never itched so bad in my life... I tried every anti-itch cream on the market and finally got some relief from a home remedy made by one of my gym moms... And I didn't even have it nearly as bad as a lot of other orienteers... In case anyone is wondering, this is what chiggers looks like...
September was also the month of my best friend's birthday...
And the month in which I discovered, after an MRI, that I have a hole in the cartilage in my hip... Luckily this fact does not affect my handstands...
October
October was a busy month... My homeschool gymnastics group had their first Wednesday field trip... We went to Butler's Orchard... My little sister had a baby boy... I bought an iPhone 6... My older sister had a birthday, and I got a membership to 24 Hour Fitness in Annapolis...
November
November was the month of big events... I competed in a 3-Day orienteering event...I went on my first cruise ever... It was a Western Caribbean cruise for Thanksgiving aboard the Carnival Sunshine...
And our competition season began... I love our new coral leotards and black capris... My girls look awesome...
December
December means the end of 2014... And what an incredible end it was... A trip to the Bahamas for a gymnastics competition... Christmas with my family... Skiing with my niece and nephews... Ages 1, 3 and 5... And an awesome team party with a great group of gymnasts and coaches...
Thank you to everyone for a great 2014:)
I look forward to an exciting 2015:)
Happy New Year!!!
