So far, I have completed the Knee Hook and Catch and the Set Heel Hook Release and Catch. At today's class I learned the Set Straddle which is very similar to the stalder position in gymnastics. Here is a quick view of the 1st position...
And the final position...
And the actual trick... Notice the 1 hand take-off... I was able to learn that as well...
Both hands do not go on the bar until the "Hep" (jump off the platform)...
The final position before the release...
And from a different angle... I love the "Got Chalk" socks... very fitting considering the activity...
My favorite part... the actual release (and yes, it is a blind release) and catch...
My other favorite part... the swing after the catch...
So fun...
Since our homeschool group has doubled from last year, we had to split the group and do two different classes which means I went to 2 classes! So... I got to learn another new trick... Actually 2 more new tricks because one was similar and I was able to catch it on the first try so they taught me a 2nd new trick and I caught that too!!! The first new trick was the Set Whip and Catch which was the same as the Set Straddle except in a piked position...
And the final new trick was the Set Split and Catch... MY FAVORITE SO FAR...
So pretty...
A close-up of the final position before the release... not bad for a "retired" gymnast...
The cool part about this trick was that you could see the catcher for a long time before the release so you could really see how high up you were when you released (the last two releases required your head to be in)...
And the release totally felt like I was flying... AMAZING...
Another successful catch...
Thanks Remy!!!
And the rest of the crew (Chris, Neil, Daren and Rex) for another awesome trapeze experience!!! We love flying!!!
P.S. Did anyone notice my outfit change! I wanted each class to be a different color outfit so that I could remember what skills I learned in a particular class;)
